What Cuál is

Cuál is a trip planner for Madrid, Barcelona and Bucharest. You enter where you are and where you are going, and it recommends how to get there across taxi, ride-hailing apps, public transport and walking, with estimated prices and times. Cuál does not sell rides and is not affiliated with any transport provider; you book in the provider's own app, under its terms.

What we store

• A random device identifier. It is anonymous unless you create an account, in which case it is linked to it.
• The trips you search: origin, destination, time, and the options we showed you.
• Which option you tapped, so we can learn whether our recommendations are right.
• How you use the app: screens opened, buttons tapped, settings changed, when and for how long. Usage data, kept with your device and your account if you have one.
• If you create an account, an age range you may give us once.
• Prices you choose to report after a ride, to improve the estimates for everyone.
• Preferences you set (transport pass, public transport on or off, cost optimisation, saved places and alerts stay on your device).

Nothing is stored until you accept the notice shown on first use.

Accounts (optional)

You can sign in with Apple, Google or an email code so Cuál can greet you by name and keep your settings and rides across devices. We then also store your email address, the name you give us, and the identifier Apple or Google provides. We never store a password: email sign-in uses a one-time code, and Apple and Google confirm your identity to us directly. Delete the account in Settings at any time; it removes those records immediately.

Where it goes

Trip coordinates are sent to Google Maps Platform for routing, public transport and address search; the map you drop a pin on loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Live prices come from Cabify's ride-hailing API under an account we hold; other prices are our own estimates from published tariffs. Data is processed on servers in the European Union operated by Vercel and stored in a database hosted in the EU. We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers, and no advertising or cross-site tracking runs in the app. Each of these providers processes the data under its own terms, with protections equivalent to ours: Google (policies.google.com/privacy), Cabify (cabify.com/legal), and Vercel and Supabase as processors hosting in the EU.

How long we keep it

Raw trip coordinates for at most 12 months, after which they are aggregated to neighbourhood-level statistics that cannot identify a trip. Reported prices are kept as aggregate statistics indefinitely.

Your choices

Settings → “Delete everything about me” erases every record tied to your device, immediately and permanently. Location access is optional; you can type your origin instead. You have the rights the GDPR gives you (access, rectification, erasure, objection); use the contact below.

Estimates

Prices shown are estimates unless labelled live. The price you pay is set by the provider at booking time and can differ.
